The weekend the members of Hopetown Congregation spent weeks preparing and practising for, had finally arrived.

Friday 8 December 2017, marked the annual congregational close-of-year activity and the annual Advent Choral on Saturday, 9 December 2017. The congregants were asked to dress up in the attire of different cultural groups, among others as French, Mexican, Indian and some indigenous South African groups. Each “culture group” had to perform a traditional item. The congregation enjoyed fellowship after the performance and took some time to view video clips of the last visit of the Chief Apostle. This served as preparation for the upcoming visit of our Chief Apostle in 2018.

On the Saturday the children`s choir performed to a packed hall. Among the invited guests were members of the Apostolic Faith Mission Church. Impressed by the performance of the New Apostolic Church children`s choir, the leaders of the Church invited the children to form part of their Nativity play the following day. After the Divine Service on Sunday the 10th, the group of children and leaders joined the Sunday School of the AFM Church, sharing the love of Advent with our neighbour.
