Wednesday 23 May 2018 can be written down as a moment of spiritual upliftment for the congregation
of Highbury, when Apostle A Kriel conducted a divine service there. Orchestral pieces and beautiful choir renditions set the ambience for a wonderful festive divine service to follow.
For this divine service the Apostle used a special Bible Word, Numbers 14:24, “'But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.'” Apostle Kriel encouraged the congregation to fight the different battles in life and the Lord whom they serve, will deliver them into the promised Land.
The District Elder A Jullies was called to serve along. During this divine service some 22 members, babies and adults, were sealed and added to the fold. After the serving of Holy Communion, the Apostle placed the priests G Julies and T Ebrahim into retirement.
The choir rendition of the after-service anthem, “God is our strength and refuge” and the encouraging words of the Apostle will linger in all hearts for a long time.
