On Wednesday 26 July 2017, the congregations of Malmesbury Central, Malmesbury West, Riebeek-Kasteel, Riebeek West, Kalbaskraal and Dassenberg gathered in the Malmesbury City Town Hall for a divine service with District Apostle J Kriel.

The area of Malmesbury was referred to as 'Swartland'(the Black Land), because the fields, covered by renosterbos, appeared black at certain times of the year.

The Bible word for the divine service was taken out of Galatians 4:4-5, “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” The Apostle Thompson and District Rector Sasman were also called to serve.

After the divine service the District Apostle enjoyed a cup of soup with members of the congregation.
