The visit of District Apostle J Kriel to the greater Johannesburg area commenced with a concert on Saturday, 09 September 2017.

The concert was held in the Towerby church building. All Rectors and District Rectors, along with their wives, accompanied the District Apostle and his guests. The choir and orchestra filled the hall with hymns of thanks and praise-much to the delight of the audience. A few hymns from the new Afrikaans hymnal were also presented. In his address, the District Apostle thanked the musicians and encouraged them to continue offering their musical talent to the honour of God and His work. All those in attendance left the hall with a warm and festive feeling in their hearts.

After an extra special preparation the previous day, members from across the Johannesburg area gathered in the UNISA hall in Ormonde for a festive divine service with the District Apostle. This service was audio visually transmitted to all countries within Southern Africa. The Bible word which served as a platform for the divine service was taken from John 6:9, “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?” The message shared was that just like the little boy, all of us can also make a contribution to the cause of our Lord Jesus Christ - rich or poor, young or old, no one is excluded! Apostle Stephens was also called to serve along.

After the divine service, the Rectors and District Rectors enjoyed a short fellowship with the District Apostle.
