District Apostle J Kriel, accompanied by District Apostle Helper P Mkhwanazi, Apostle J Joubert, Apostle S Mogane, Apostle R Worship, local Bishops
from the administrative office met with the District Rectors and Rectors of the Gauteng East and Gauteng West Apostle areas on Saturday 2 December at Sagewood School.
At the commencement of the meeting, the District Apostle shared a Bible word from Luke 2:46, "Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions."
The District Apostle reminded the brothers that in the congregation the will of God is the most important. He asked that all the Rectors use the gifts they have been given to serve God and His people. The District Apostle also asked the rectors to
• be modest;
• strive to keep the unity and
• have solidarity.
Further points on the agenda included:
• The Management Information System (MIS)
• Revision of the ‘Big Five Strategy’ consisting of
- knowing your membership;
- increasing participation;
- guidance for ministers;
-public speaking; and
-increasing parent involvement in Sunday School.
In addition to these points, the District Apostle added that all Soul Care Visits in 2018 should focus on greater involvement and participation of each member in their congregation under the banner ‘Count me in’.
Bishop James addressed a few matters regarding the MIS and Sister Joseph addressed a few matters around the finances and procedures that need to be adhered to.
Apostle Joubert also gave insight into the final planning for #YPC18218 and the programme for the weekend with the young people.
The District Apostle then elaborated on the concept of ministries and discussed a few resolutions taken at the past International District Apostle meetings.
In closing, the District Apostle wished District Apostle Helper Mkhwanazi God’s blessings on his birthday.
