On Sunday, 27 January 2019, District Apostle J Kriel served the Sunday school children of the Netreg and Elsies River districts in Lavistown.

The Bible word 2 Kings 5:3 served as a basis for this special divine service, "Then she said to her mistress, 'If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy'."

During the divine service, the District Apostle made use of a PowerPoint presentation to simplify the message for the children.

The Bible verse, which quotes the words of an unnamed servant girl, comes from the account of the healing of Naaman, a Syrian army commander. The young girl believed that the prophet Elisha could heal Naaman of his leprosy and spoke about it, said the District Apostle. "She was not afraid to speak about what she believed. Like this girl, we should speak about what our Saviour Jesus can do. You have sung: 'I'm the child of a King'. Don't be afraid to tell others that they too can be children of a King."

Apostle P Lambert was also called to serve along.

The children and Sunday school teachers now await the visit of our Chief Apostle to Lavistown on Saturday, 11 May 2019.
