The long-awaited day 11 October 2017, of the first ever divine service, held on a Wednesday morning dawned.

With many of the senior members from the Kimberley area in attendance, a reasonable choir and a good number of brothers and sisters working close by, the Bishop Bhana used as basis for this divine encounter a Bible word that our Chief Apostle used recently, i.e. 1 Peter 5:6, “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,”. There were 68 members in attendance at this divine encounter.

The Bishop encouraged the congregation to appear before God in true humbleness, recognising God’s Glory and work on their relationship with God. He subsequently elaborated on the word and explained the five points comparing it with one’s hand by using the five fingers: 1)The hand of the Creator, 2)The guiding hand, 3) The hand that exalts, 4) The hand that brings together and 5) The hand of blessing. In conclusion, all in attendance were tasked to exhibit complete trust and display God’s fear, and proclaim the Gospel to all people.

After this divine encounter many photos were taken to etch these historical moments in the chronicles of the area for those who would come after them. Also in attendance was the retired District Evangelist Pheza, a stalwart in the work of God for many years in the Kimberley area.
