On 30 July 2017, District Elder B Adams held a divine service for the senior members of the

Embalenhle District. The Bible word for the service was taken from Matthew 15:2-3: “'Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.’ He answered and said to them, 'Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?'”

The service was attended by 24 senior members and some of the local youth members to offer musical entertainment, especially for the seniors. The officiant started off by thanking the stalwarts for remaining faithful, the example they are, and for all the sacrifices they have made to ensure that the Lord’s work was established within this area.

The core message from the service was:
•Tradition cannot ensure our soul salvation
•Spiritual (the New Apostolic) tradition is what we need to follow, i.e. the Commandments
•Senior members must continue to pray for the ministers and the congregation.

After the divine service the senior members enjoyed a photo session with the District Elder and fellow ministers. A meal and fellowship with the ministers and the team of ladies who prepared the meal were enjoyed.
