Bracing the chill of Sunday morning 31 May 2015, the Apostle M Diedricks strode with godly purpose to the home of Kathleen and John Fell who waited with much anticipation and reverance for their 65th wedding anniversary blessing.
In earlier times it was believed that the firmament was an enormous blue sapphire in which the earth was embedded, however this couple has God as their firm foundation and Jesus as the centre point of their life.
The rendition from the choir, Welcome! Welcome. . . . brought warmth to the Apostle’s heart as he walked into their home. Coming directly from the service in Erica West where District Apostle NE Barnes held the morning service, the divine word was still alive in the hearts of those who were there and had the privilege to experience the word inspired by the Holy Spirit. With the word from the District Apostle and a bouquet especially from him to the couple of iron, the Apostle could strengthen all with the encouraging text word from 1 Corinthians 10:13 – “but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
Children, grandchildren and ministries witnessed the blessing of an exemplary couple whose love and sacrifices withstood the winds of the time. The serving of Holy Communion by the Apostle was an intimate and divine moment.
A hearty lunch over much reminiscing ended a blessed occasion.
