It was a graduation ceremony like no other.

On Sunday, 30 July 2017, following six months of intense training, 32 entrepreneurs graduated as part of the Elsies River Bishop Area Young Entrepreneurs Skills-Development (YES) Project.

The project, championed by Bishop Alvin Witten and presented by the Cabanga Foundation in collaboration with service providers ESIA (Pty) Ltd and CHASSE (Pty) Ltd, was designed to develop and empower small business owners from congregations across the Elsies River Bishop Area.

The 20-week programme (fully funded) consisted of workshops and interactive training sessions at our Connaught Congregation every Thursday from 09:00 – 12:00.

"To see these graduating entrepreneurs adorn the stage with Bishop Witten and Laetitia Permall, chairperson of the Cabanga Foundation, was a sight to behold", said one of the ceremony organisers. "They were proud, beaming and on cloud nine - and they deserved to be. For more than 20 weeks, they came, they endured and they conquered."
