On Wednesday 31 October 2018, the Apostle R Worship conducted the evening divine service at Florida Congregation.
The brethren welcomed the Apostle with warm hearts. The Apostle used a Bible word from Isaiah 59:1 - “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.” The Apostle mentioned that the Lord helps us through various means, through the Gospel, through the sacrifice of His Son, and also through the congregation. The Apostle also mentioned that there are tasks that the Lord expects us to fulfil, as the Lord has blessed us with the strength to do so.
Before the dispensing of Holy Communion, the Apostle called upon the souls who had been prepared to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. A total of 23 souls were sealed, amongst them were 13 babies, 5 confirmands and 5 adults.
After the dispensing of Holy Communion, Shepherd James Barendse was placed into retirement and the Community Evangelist Martin Mullins was officially appointed as the new rector. The Shepherd Barendse was appointed as the rector of Florida in 2015, where he effectively served for two years.
Another act of blessing took place in the form of an ordination. The Deacon Ryan Hanson was ordained into the Priest ministry and was commissioned by the Apostle to love and care for God’s people. The newly ordained Priest was embraced by the love of the brethren in the congregation.
After the divine service the Apostle had the opportunity to have fellowship with the congregation, as snacks and refreshments were served for all to enjoy. This ended the evening of blessing on a high note.
