On Sunday, 3 November 2019, the Apostle R Worship served a combined congregation for the Service for the Departed in Netreg.
Invited to the service were the congregations of Netreg, Kalksteenfontein, Bonteheuwel East, Golden Gate and Charlesville.
The choir hymn, "Come ye disconsolate" set the tone for the divine service. In his opening remarks, the Apostle referred to the refrain, which reads: “Earth has no sorrow that heav’n cannot heal”. He reminded the congregation of the might and power of our Heavenly Father, who is able to heal all sorrow and who wants all to be saved.
To attain salvation, the Apostle said that souls both here on earth and in the beyond needed to follow five key principles. They need to believe in Jesus Christ; be humble and repent; receive the sacraments and remain true to their promises; be influenced by the teaching of Jesus; and remain faithful until the end.
The District Rector, District Elder Bernard Scholtz, was called to serve along.
After the divine service, the Apostle greeted the congregation and took a group photograph with the ministers of the congregations present.
These were blessed and memorable moments.
