On 8 November 2020, District Apostle J Kriel conducted a divine service in Sandton congregation.
The congregation also celebrated its 25th anniversary. Sandton congregation was established in 1993 in the home of Peter and Christine Rasch. From those humble beginnings, the congregation has grown, and the beautiful building, which was completed in 1995, has become a landmark in the heart of Sandton.
Apostle A Page and the local ministers from the congregation accompanied the District Apostle. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the full capacity inside the church building could not be reached, but the members erected a marquee style tent in the car park to allow for more congregants to attend the service. There were 115 members in attendance, 45 of whom were in the main hall, with the rest accommodated in the tent, where there was an audio-visual feed.
The Bible word which served as a platform for this divine service was out taken out of Colossians 1: 12-13; "Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love."
A blessed morning was experienced by those in attendance, and the congregation remains extremely thankful for 25 years of memories under Gods abundant blessing.
